Fashion Review: The beauty of smart shoes

I would love for there to come a day where I would not get distracted by beautiful items of clothing and footwear, but that day has yet to show any signs of coming around.

While editing and updating my CV my eyes came across the Tommy Hilfiger advertisement, their irresistible shoe collection and their '50% off selected items' sale. Damn it.

Featured upon the advert, a beautiful pair of pine green and coral blue platform pumps. I could not resist, checking the rest of the adorably named and oh so feminine collection immediately.

As I am in the process for applying for work experience (in relation to my print journalism degree) smart shoes have become a bit of an obsession and a necessity in many ways. After all, impressions count and who doesn't like to make a bit of effort?

Tommy Hilfiger Shoes
(Avelien Shoe,  Ava Shoe,  Jo Shoe,  Adriana Ballerina, Melia Shoe, Hailey Shoe, Cindy Shoe, Anne Ballerina)

The collection includes a variety of patent, suede and leather shoes, in beautifully bold yet sophisticated colours, such as rich reds, cool greens and striking blacks.

Firstly, we have the beautiful glossy patent leather Avelien Shoe with a college-inspired look, block colours and a chunky platform heel and sole.  This is followed by the similarly classic Ava Shoe, another sleek leather pump with strap across the bright red contrast-coloured toe, topstitching and a metal panel embellishment to finish.

Both drastically different  in comparison to the simplistic Jo Shoe, a metallic sheen leather pump perfect for the office and its after parties. Just look at that cute textile star print inner lining!

However, for those of us who can't take both the day and night in heels, we have the beautifully glossy patent Adriana Ballerina with its delicate and contrasting golden heel and Tommy Hilfiger metal logo tag.

For professional footwear it seems like the college-inspired look is bang on trend with the third addition of the Melia Shoe.  The eye-catching leather platformed pump features a  tasselled strap to the front, the Tommy Hilfiger rivet on the outer heel and a stacked and supportive heel, perfect for dashing about the office.

The Hailey Shoe proves a little more classic with a delicate red sheen, thick heel and its textile typewriter lining, perfect for those who prefer their footwear a little more simplistic. While the cute suede Cindy Shoe features an adorable leather ribbon to the front, small heel and the with metal Tommy Hilfiger initials to the toe, I just love the deep forest green colour too.

Lastly, we have the adorable leather Anne Ballerina, sleek with delicate tassels to the toe and the Tommy Hilfiger logo on the metal tassel tip, bold yet practical.

What do you think of the Tommy Hilfiger sale? Do you opt for heels or flats when looking for your work shoes?
