Brisk walks, bright skies and brilliant fashion

Another post on equestrian style for all you country chic girls.

I came across the Cross Country Style website and found a host of traditional and beautiful designers to appeal to your inner sporting star.

Now this was the first thing to catch my eye. I have always longed for a Barbour quilted jacket. I would usually have opted for the black but after seeing the Summer Liddesdale Quilted Jacket in blackcurrant I instantly fell in love, wearing a splash of colour always brightens my mood and day. Barbour is a classic brand and the tailoring offers a truly beautiful fit. There is also lots of contrast with the quilted and corduroy collar fabric mix and its lovely lining. The popper fastenings are engraved while the logo is beautifully stitched into the deep pockets, there is even an internal one for valuables! A wonderfully versatile jacket.

The Lansdown Club Polo Shirt is also wonderfully detailed with its cream and mustard contrast trims and large 'look at me' logo. The cotton shirt features the Lansdown Polo Club shield and appliqu├ęd number four. Its variety of flattering stripes, also gives it a nice womanly fit.

I have to admit when it comes to festivals or walks I am a Hunter girl through and through. Saying that, these Sherwood Forest Melbury Horse Print Women's Wellington boots are just adorable (oh and Cross Country Style sell a huge variety of Hunter boots also so no need to worry!). They are made of natural rubber and are reinforced throughout, the gusset has an adjustable strap for comfort and style with the addition of a secure metal buckle. I love the horse print, it is so cute and makes these boots so much fun to dress up or down, depending on the situation of course! Be it a manic festival or long grueling walk.

For the evening chill I spotted the Eskeez Super Thermal Leggings. Now the word 'thermal' may sound off putting to most, but these work their magic in cold and even warmer conditions. Of course, thermals are designed to keep you warm but these lovely fitted leggings are not just for intense sports and the biting cold. These stretchy wonders, offer a comfortable fleece inside and are tapered at the ankle to avoid any damage (who does not detest baggy leggings?). Plus they are coated with a durable water repellent, drying quickly so you remain snug.

However, back to my beloved Barbour. I could not resist the summer rose Daisy Crew Neck Sweater. This cable knit jumper in its soft summertime shade is just beautiful. The crew neck is flattering and it can easily be placed within your bag (along with the leggings of course) for the evening. It is simple and sweet, featuring a small metal Barbour badge at the end and long cosy sleeves.

Which of these items are your favourite? What brand do you opt for when going for country wear?

Accessories Review: MyFlashTrash Cat Frame iPhone Case

MyFlashTrash is a website that offers a variety of cute and quirky iPhone case designs and a whole host of other trendy jewellery and accessories.

As a kitty lover myself, I instantly fell for the Cat Frame iPhone Case*

This super sweet Victorian Esque illustrated kitty has been designed by Cathy Peng of Ideal Cases. Not only is it pretty to look at, but also practical with its hard black plastic and secure design.

The little red bowed tuxedo cat looks just adorable in her regal frame. It almost makes me want to play dress up with my little tom Jachibo (although the moody thing never appreciates my kitty fashion endeavours)!

Do you go for practical or pretty when choosing your cases? What do you think of this design?

Cocktail hour!

Exams are now over (for those of us studying anyway) and we have a long and beautiful summer ahead of us.

Now seems like a better time than ever to round up all the girls and get the cosmopolitans in! What to wear for the evening? A cute cocktail dress seems more than fitting.

Scouring the internet, I have found a lovely selection from Designer Desirables, in colours and styles to suit the most hard to please lady. It is time to get those pins out girls and this is for women only!

They offer a huge variety of A - Z brand names. The prices are reasonable, with lots of affordable and designer labels to suit any budget. You can shop by department, brand, trend, colour and they even have a section dedicated to items that are £50 and under, what a steal! While additionally offering free next day delivery!

Searching for my perfect dress I find there is lots of peplum on offer, proving to be a very big trend this summer. The beautifully fitted, stretch midi pencil dress seems to be just perfect for a sophisticated evening.

The navy Tempest Sira Dress has an open back with lovely cream satin lining, offering a classic contrast and a clinched in peplum waist, finished off with long delicate satin ties to the back, creating a sophisticated vintage look to suit any occasion.

The Designer Desirables own Gold & Black Sequin Embellished Skater Dress offers a sparkling mini style with a flattering rounded neck and capped sleeps. The waist is fitted to compliment, and it has a low back to elongate the shortest of ladies! The best part? It is covered in glittering gold and black sequins, you will be sure to stand out with all that shimmer.

The Pretty Dress Company Harvard Jade Green Arrowhead Neckline Pencil DressThe Harvard Jade Green Arrowhead Neckline Pencil Dress by the Pretty Dress Company is pretty and practical. Wear it during the daytime at the office then switch your heels to something a little fancier and you have the perfect cocktail dress! It is a soft green stretch material with a complimenting arrowhead shaped neckline, showing off all of your best assets while looking as presentable as ever!

Traffic People Dress Feathers At Dawn Sonny Silk Printed DressI just adore the Feathers At Dawn Sonny Silk Printed Dress by Traffic People. I am a big fan of long sleeved dresses, just as pretty, but giving you a bit of added warmth and comfort on a chilly night. This multi colored feathered design features a crossover gathered body and a deep v-neck design, letting the dress do all the talking, only minimalistic accessories needed here! Draped pleats run throughout  and it it features delicate and elegant  3/4 sleeves. Another perfect daytime to evening example.

Jessica Wright Melanie Lace & Peplum Navy Midi Dress
Another navy number comes with the glamourous Jessica Wright Melanie Lace & Peplum Navy Midi Dress, offering a pencil shaped skirt and beautifully detailed and pleated peplum waist. The lace detailing is wonderful following right down to the dresses 3/4 sleeves and high neckline. However, this cocktail hour choice is for the daring as the dress features not only a plunge neckline but a low V back also! Another statement, now all you have to decide is which you would like to make!

What do you think of these dresses? Do you have cocktail nights with your girl friends?

Accessories Review: Sew Lomax, Embroidered Pump Laptop Case

Keeping your accessories clean and safe is a must, so when I came across Sew Lomax I was very excited indeed.

The site offers a lovely variety of eco-friendly carriers, be it makeup bags, gym bags and even laundry bags!

SewLomaxLaptopCaseOpenI fell in love with this Embroidered Pump Laptop Case*, large enough to fit the most ancient of laptops and a variety of those important documents while on the go.

The case has a built in memory foam liner and a large zip to secure. The most beautiful detail being the stitched and embroidered, pink lined and bowed, leopard print pumps upon the front.

The outside is a lovely soft canvas spritzed with Scotchguard (a stain and water repellent) for added protection.

Considering the cases delicate nature it must be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent but why wouldn't you protect it with your life?

Not only to they offer lots of pretty embroidered bags and cases, Sew Lomax also offer you the opportunity to bespoke your own tote! A cute little personalised gift idea, you are spoilt for choice really.

Do be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the new collection coming out soon!

What do you think of the Sew Lomax collection? Don't you just adore those pumps? they really are cute enough to wear!

For that 'Rainy Day' money...

Hervia is a website entirely dedicated to keep women and men fashionable, their collection of designers would impress even the most trend savvy.

Browsing through, I find myself scrolling through masses of bold prints and monochrome inspired pieces, perfect for keeping cool this summer. Designers include: Carven, Commes des Garcons, Viktor and Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier, Zoe Karssen, Junya Watanabe and that is just to name a few!
The majority of the items I loved are in white, keeping you nice and breezy as you laze in the suns rays.
The perfume is my all time favourite (the beautiful Flowerbomb) but what about the fashion? This seemingly simple white top by Viktor and Rolf is just beautiful. The Jewel Collar S/S White Shirt features short sleeves and a wonderfully detailed jewelled and beaded collar. The buttons are also concealed to give a smart finish, sophisticated and glamorous.

For something a bit more daring I spotted the Jean Paul Gaultier Silk Graphic Pattern Sheer Sleeved Top. This delicate tunic is patterned like anything but. The bold and multi-coloured print is just perfect for standing out on those cool summer nights. The sheer sleeves offer something different also and can be fastened enabling you to alter your style with ease.

The Junya Watanabe Mesh Patterned Long Sleeved Dress looks as futuristic as it does fabulous. This Japanese cream and black dress has mesh panels to complement its length and flow, while the 3/4 length sleeves prove it to be as elegant as it is interesting.

We've had the beautiful, now back to the everyday.
The Zoe Karssen 'Live Fast Because It Won't Last' graphic printed t shirt is wonderful in text, yet simple in black and white (can you see a summer time trend starting here?). It features capped sleeves and an unfinished hem to add to a nice and shapely fit.

This Safari Printed Poplin Skirt by Carven is presented in red and an off white. It is very summertime beautiful, making you crave the heat and excitement of an African safari with images of parked jeeps, people discovering out in the wild and carnivorous animals peacefully lazing around in the sun. Bold and fashionable, it may just inspire you to take an adventure further afield.

What do you think of the items I have shown you from Hervia? Do you have a rainy day fund for your fashion purchases?

Summer Fashion - Festival, fun and frolics ♥

Summer is approaching, the days are getting longer, warmer and the clothes a lot brighter and more interesting.

These lasting days will soon be filled with good music, fast-paced festivals, day trips and sporting endeavors. I have always found myself attempting new things with my newly found summertime freedom. As I have been a student for as long as I care to remember, I have always had around three blissful months in which to do so.

As a child there was always a new hobby, looking back to my summer adventures I find myself reminiscing on a short time in which I attempted horseriding. I have always enjoyed the idea of it, but it becomes an expensive hobby pretty quickly and needs true dedication, something I find myself sadly lacking when it comes to sports.
Caldene Belgrade BreechesHowever, even if I do not participate,  I can still take inspiration and be influenced by the equestrian fashion. Not only do horseriders work hard, they often look rather good while doing so. Just look to the outfits worn during dressage, it is not all riding hats, leather crops and masses of muck.
Burnhills is a website dedicated to everything equestrian and I mean everything! It is for the fashionable animal lover and the fashionable, and I often find websites like these to be hidden gems.
The site is packed with fashionable treats, Hunter wellingtons, lovey jodhpurs  beautiful riding jackets,  leather boots, breeches and cosy jackets for the late evening chill once the sun begins to crawl back down once more.
Shires Equestrian Huntingdon Ladies Jacket
I find the breeches (Caldene Belgrade Ladies Breeches Black) are particularly flattering. Although breeches can be quite thick, they always maintain a lovely fit. I love the black and grey of them also, the black on the legs appears more slimming as they grey offers a bit more curve, I am all about nicely fitted clothing and who doesn't want to look fabulous?
Hunters Original Red Wellington
The green riding jacket (Shires Equestrian Huntingdon Ladies Jacket) I just adore, I don't see how anyone could not want this. Not only does it  complement but would also look lovely for most summer occasions with its delicate and striking velvet trims and beautiful satin lining.
Odette Ladies Navy Hoody
As for the Original red Hunters I already have mine waiting for their festival debut (although the slightly different 'Original Tour' edition). Hunters are classics, be it for use during long English country walks or frivolous festivals. I am planning to get my own really messy during Y Not festival in Derbyshire with my beautiful friend Lauren. The festival is on my 20th pre-birthday weekend so I will be attempting to look as nice as possible before crawling back home with them on my birthday morning, dirty and worn out from all the fun.
Ah but what happens when the sun sets and you start to get a bit nippy while making all these summertime memories? Well we also have the lovely deep navy blue and embroidered trim Odette Hoody to scare off the chill, both pretty and practical.
It seems fashion inspiration can really come from the most peculiar of places. Burnhills almost makes me want to get on a horse again!

What festivals are you off to this summer and what are you planning to wear for them? Anyone planning on starting any new sports?

Make Up Review: BeautyStore4U 120 Colour Eyeshadow Palette 3rd Edition

Finding the right eyeshadow palette can be a daunting task. Not only are you looking for an array of amazing colours to choose from, but also for impeccable quality and great value.

IMG_4740With this in mind, I would like to introduce you to the BeautyStore4U palette!

This third edition 120 colour palette* by BH Cosmetics offers an astonishing two trayed collection of highly pigmented, lasting colours, depending on mood and time of course!

IMG_4739The palette is inclusive of  vibrant and soft colours inspired by 'luscious lavenders, sultry evening dusks, summer sky blues and lovely meadow greens'.

It comes in a sleek, compact and secure black case, easily fitting into any bag without the worry of what look to create next or mess!
It can be used in the daytime for a more demure office look, or in the nighttime if you're feeling a bit more adventurous and sultry.

IMG_5461The colour compacts are also very secure and do not crumble easily as you begin application, the bane of eyeshadow users and lovers. The shadows are also made from natural mineral and oil based powders, ensuring they last as long as you can (and they do!).

This palette is just perfect and really does offer an exceptional standard of quality, it suits any occasion with its mix of natural, pastel and vibrant shades and you'll never need to purchase eyeshadows again! This is until you run out of all the shades and swiftly buy another...

Lets keep our eyes colourful and bright this summer!

What is your favourite palette? What colours do you like to use in the day and night?
